Chinese New Year

  • February 27, 2017

The auditorium was decorated in red and gold with an Asian flare. Excited Residents, Sisters, volunteers and employees tried to find an open seat. It was the seventh year that our Home celebrated Chinese New Year with an authentic home cooked Chinese meal.

This tradition began when collecting Sister Margaret Mary first arrived in 2010. Sister had spent over twelve years assigned to Little Sisters Homes in Hong Kong and Malaysia and loves to tell everyone about her time serving the missions. Chinese New Year is often a circled date on the calendar for many of the Residents at our Home. The days of prep work by Sister, the kitchen staff, and some volunteers are well worth the final result. It was delicious!
