Memorializing Our Residents
On Saturday, November 5 we were thrilled to welcome Bishop David Zubik to the Home to celebrate our annual Memorial Mass for our deceased Residents. For the first time since the pandemic began we were able to welcome immediate family of those Residents who died to attend Mass in person. A number of family & friends joined via Zoom as well.
Those deceased Residents and Little Sisters from November 21 to October 22 were remembered when their names were announced as family members or friends brought up yellow roses and memorial candles to place before the altar. Small wooden crosses with the deceased Resident’s name on it were handed out to family in attendance.
The Mass program said it best “Our family at The Little Sisters of the Poor thank you for the privilege you have given us by entrusting your loved one to our care. Their presence, wisdom and goodness have been a gift we treasure. They are loved by you and will always be loved and cherished by us as well! They are missed, but we are consoled that they are in the embrace of our merciful God!”
