Lemonade Stand for a Good Cause
Last Spring we were contacted by Alexzandra, a mother in Southern California, who is related to a Resident here in our Pittsburgh Home. She asked if her children and their friends from the neighborhood could write cards to our nursing home Residents.
“Our family was so grateful for the care during Covid that everyone took that we wanted to give back in some way. My kids had heard us talking and said we should donate to them this year. All the kiddos were so excited to do so,” explained Alexzandra. Well in addition to the personalized cards, the children also staffed a local lemonade stand at a Lavender farm near their neighborhood in SoCal and decided that their proceeds would be donated to the Little Sisters.
Recently our Home received the cards in the mail for the Residents along with a check for over $125! Also included was this great photograph of the children preparing to sell their lemonade. Starting top left: Guliana, Ella, Lilly, Emmah, Alyssa, Nate Sitting: Kendall and Grant.
What a sweet contribution to our Home! Many thanks to the kids and parents who sent these thoughtful gifts!
