Everyone is Irish on March 17th!
Last week we had many celebrations for St. Patrick’s Day. In anticipation of the day there was St. Patrick’s Day Bingo with recently retired employee Sue Kumanchik. The Residents were thrilled to welcome former CNA Sue back for a visit and try their luck at winning “some gold.” Resident Judy Watts poses with Sue at the Bingo on St. Michael’s household.
We also painted some green ceramics to decorate the Residents rooms. Here is Maggie McKissick painting her ceramic clover. Sister Jeanne, who was born in Ireland, found some adorable Singing Irish Bears that she nicknamed Bridget and Patrick.
The fun culminated with a performance by local musician Michael Gallagher on St. Patrick’s Day. His performance was unwritten by Larry Brophy whose mother Mary was a Resident. The Sisters and Residents filled the auditorium to hear Michael’s Irish tunes. There was even talk of a leprechaun sighting.
