The Little Sisters of the Poor, Residents, employees and volunteers celebrated the official start of summer on Wednesday June 21, 2017 with a picnic at North Park. After several rainy days in Pittsburgh, the skies were finally bright blue without a cloud in sight.
Delicious yet traditional fare was served at the picnic thanks again to the generosity of a benefactor. Grilled steak burgers and hot dogs were enjoyed by all, while the potato salad proved to be a hometown favorite once again.
Although the Residents enjoyed playing games, strolling along the paths, and lively conversation, just being outside with the birds singing, the sun shining and the fresh summer air was enough to bring a smile to everyone’s face.
