This Summer we were so pleased to celebrate two meaningful dates for two of our Little Sisters. In June Sister Claire celebrated her 60th Jubilee as a Little Sister and in August Sister Mary Ellen celebrated her 25th anniversary of vows.
Sister Claire’s Jubilee Mass was celebrated by Bishop Waltersheid and held in our Home’s Chapel. Her family, friends, volunteers and Residents joined her as she commemorated her 60 years of vows of poverty, chastity, obedience and hospitality (a fourth vow that all Little Sisters take).
Sister Mary Ellen is originally from Pittsburgh’s Beechview neighborhood. Bishop Winter joined Bishop Zubik who celebrated the Mass in the Little Sisters’ Chapel with friends, family, and Residents of the Home present.
After a special luncheon for guests a play about how Sister Mary Ellen makes the Residents happy was performed by Residents, volunteers and staff.
Congratulations Sisters Claire and Mary Ellen on reaching these milestone Jubilees! May God continue to bless you in your vocation as Little Sisters.
