As part of the preparations for his upcoming confirmation at St. Sebastian’s Parish, Eric Ford was asked to complete a special project in the community. Eric, an avid baseball player, decided to organize a home run derby to benefit the Little Sisters. He had full ownership of the idea and led efforts to recruit sponsors and participants, advertise the event, and, with the help of his family, direct the entire activity. On Sunday, August 16, he and his fellow little league baseball players gathered at Bartlett field in Ross Township for the derby. Sister Mary Ellen and Sister Dorothy also made an appearance. A highlight of the afternoon was when Sister Dorothy manned the pitching machine and successfully struck out Eric! A fun time was had by all. Thanks to Eric and the Ford family the event raised nearly $300! We will keep Eric and his classmates in our prayers as they prepare for the sacrament of confirmation this school year. God bless!
