St. Jeanne Jugan’s Feast Day Parade
Last week, two days after St. Jeanne Jugan’s Feast Day, Residents gathered in front of the main entrance to watch a parade to honor her legacy.
The Home’s Social Worker, Mary Callahan, had the honor of carrying a life-size cut out of St. Jeanne Jugan to lead the parade.
Behind Mary was a stream of vehicles which included a motorcycle police officer, a Steelers themed yellow Hummer, an equally yellow Jeep, additional “hot-rod” cars, multiple decorated vehicles, six motorcycles (representing the Teamster Horsemen) and of course two decorated golf carts.
Family, friends, and volunteers paraded by the Home waving to the Residents. It was a joy to see everyone come together to honor St. Jeanne Jugan.
