While many people immediately think of St. Patrick during March, for the Little Sisters, March is about St. Joseph. From the earliest days of our congregation we have held a great devotion to St. Joseph, protector of the holy family. St. Jeanne Jugan would encourage her fellow Little Sisters to pray to him when in need and, time and again, he followed through on every request. Whether it was food, supplies or monetary donations to help run the Home, St. Joseph always came through!
To celebrate his feast day on March 19, we created a traditional Italian St. Joseph Table. Employees, volunteers and friends made special baked good treats that were placed before the statue of St. Joseph and blessed by chaplain Father John Geinzer. After a prayer service, the Residents enjoyed the baked goods followed by a Big Bucks Bingo! It was a small way to say thanks and honor the saint who provides for our Home!
St. Joseph, pray for us!
