During Lent students at St. Teresa of Avila Grade School were asked to “Build the Kingdom of God.” Students and teachers thought it would be a great exercise to literally build a castle as a visual representation of God’s kingdom. Canned green beans created the walls of the castle while spaghetti packages made the drawbridge and water bottles simulated the moat! At the end of the Lenten season the result of the “canstruction” was on display in classroom 4. The Spiritual Enrichment Committee who lead the project knew exactly the right organization to receive the collected nonperishable food items—the Little Sisters of the Poor! We graciously picked up the canned goods for use in our Home to feed our elderly poor Residents. Thank you to all at St. Theresa of Avila grade school who have helped to build the Kingdom of God and in turn help our Home!
