Feast of the Assumption
On August 15, we joined Catholics worldwide to mark the Feast of the Assumption when the Virgin Mary was taken up in body and soul to heavenly glory. We always celebrate this Feast with evening Rosary on the porch overlooking our beautiful Grotto here at our Home. Candles were lit in front of the statue and many Sisters and Residents joined together in prayer.
To honor Mary, our Residents were busy painting pastel colored ceramic roses to place before the large statue of the Blessed Mother in front of the Jeanne Jugan Pavilion. These beautiful flowers were made with love and are a fitting tribute to the Queen of Heaven!
