Dear Family & Friends,
I am happy to report that all of the Residents, Sisters and Staff in our Home remain Covid-19 free. This week we started to implement the requirements of the state health department to administer tests to all of our Residents and Staff including all of us Little Sisters. This undertaking will occur incrementally (a portion of our Residents and Staff each week) and as we receive the results we will take action accordingly. We promise to keep Residents families and all of our friends apprised of the outcomes in a timely fashion. I am pleased to report that the first round of testing this week had all negative results!
We continue to do all we can to keep our Residents happy during this unusual time. The Activities Staff is sharing content over the closed circuit television channel and is providing one on one activities whenever possible. Residents have joined other Little Sisters’ Residents across the United States in writing Haikus. These two poems by Residents resonated with me this week:
The sunshine, blue sky
There are new greens on the trees.
Hope is in the air
The rain stopped at last
I can see across the street
Neighbor’s flowers bloom
These certainly give us hope as do all of the notes, gifts, and expressions of concern we have received over the last few months. Thank you for showing all of us love in so many ways. Keep joining us in prayer for an end to this pandemic and for a return to some “normalcy” for us, our Residents, and our Staff.
Sincerely in Christ,
Mother Mary Vincent, lsp
